What is School Site Council? 
The School Site Council is a team comprised of the school principal, teachers, other staff, and parents and/or community members. School site council members are elected, with teachers electing teachers and parents electing parents. The SSC looks at student data and identifies student needs and areas for improvement, and participates in the creation/revision of the Single Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA). 
 
 
    Why Serve on the School Site Council? 
 
School site council members participate in important decision making that can bring positive benefits to students. They represent the school community and learn about school governance and funding. 
 
 

English Language Advisory Committee (ELAC)

Each California Public School from Kindergarten through grade 12, with 21 or more English learners must form a functional English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC). The ELAC is a committee for parents of English Learners.

The purpose of the ELAC is to provide guidance and advice to the principal and staff with regards to the needs of students who are learning English as a second language. In achieving this purpose, the ELAC shall:
 
    1. Assist in the development of the school-wide needs assessment.
    2.Assist in ways to make parents aware of the importance of regular school attendance.
    3.Advise the principal in the development of a site plan for English Learners. Submit recommendations to the school site council for consideration of inclusion in the Single Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA).
    4. Receive training materials and training, planned in full consultation with committee members, to assist carrying out members in their legal responsibilities.
    5. Elect a representative for the District English Learners Advisory Committee - DELAC
